KUCHING: Random sampling will be carried out in the Kota Sentosa area here starting Saturday (July 25) after eight more Covid-19 cases were detected in the Sentosa cluster, says Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah.

KUCHING: Random sampling will be carried out in the Kota Sentosa area here starting Saturday after eight more Covid-19 cases were detected in the Sentosa cluster, says Datuk Amar Douglas UggahThe Deputy Chief Minister said the state disaster management committee decided to extend contact tracing activity to include random sampling in view of the increase of positive cases in the cluster, which involves Hospital Sentosa in Kota Sentosa.

Uggah said the eight new cases in the cluster were screened on July 22 as part of active contact tracing."To date, 643 people linked to the cluster have been screened, of which 16 or 2.49% tested positive. The other new case is an imported case involving a female student who returned from Perth, Australia, on July 20 via Kuala Lumpur.
