KUALA LUMPUR: Dr Mahathir Mohamad mempertahankan pendiriannya istana tiada kuasa dalam pelantikan menteri besar, selepas Sultan Johor meminta pihak tertentu tidak mencampuri urusan negeri itu.
“Di waktu kita membentuk Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, kita memperkanalkan undang-undang negara, Perlembagaan. Dalam Perlembagaan ini, kita telah nyatakan Persekutuan Tanah Melayu dan negeri-negeri dalam persekutuan ini mengamalkan sistem raja berperlembagaan. “Bukan raja berkuasa mutlak. Kalau ianya masih ada dalam undang-undang perlembagaan Johor, itu terbatal dan Johor juga bersetuju dengan sistem pemerintahan dalam negara kita ini,” katanya di lobi Parlimen hari ini.
