A man was stranded for hours on top of a 30m tall tree in a paragliding accident. Did this really happen?

On Wednesday , it was reported that a 35-year-old man was manoeuvring his paraglider when he lost control, resulting in him falling and getting stuck for 10 hours on the tree, some 30m from the ground.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Misran Bisara said their rescue team had used a drone to bring up ropes and other tools for the man to secure it to the top of the tree. "The rope was later brought down and our men managed to initiate the climb up and down the tree," he said. The victim, who is an outdoor activity lover, was slightly injured in the incident.

Misran said the victim was given preliminary treatment for his wounds before he was sent back to his rented accommodation. "Operations concluded at 12.15am after making sure there were no hazardous elements left at the scene," he added.
