Sahabat Alam Malaysia membantah projek tebus guna tanah di selatan Pulau Pinang berdekatan Pantai Jerejak.
Presiden Sahabat Alam Malaysia, SM Mohamed Idris berkata projek tebus guna tanah itu sangat mahal dan di luar kemampuan kebanyakan orang. “Ini masalah yang serius dan kita berdepan masalah yang besar. Kita tak perlu saingi Singapura, kita ada cara kita,” katanya. Projek itu adalah untuk membiaya Pelan Induk Pengangkutan Pulau Pinang bernilai RM4.6 juta yang merangkumi laluan kereta api, lebuhraya dan mod pengangkutan lain.
