KUALA LUMPUR: Public parks within the Federal Territories that were previously shut down when the conditional movement control order (MCO) took effect, can now reopen provided standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed.

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa announced this on Sunday saying there must be SOP compliance control in place."Golf courses are open, gyms are open. But public parks are closed," he said in a tweet.

He however, said the Federal Territories state security committee, after consulting with the National Security Council and Health Ministry, decided on reopening public parks.The conditional MCO was reinstated in the Klang Valley and is in effect from Oct 14 to Oct 27. A day earlier before the announcement of the conditional MCO, the Kuala Lumpur City Hall announced that all 17 parks managed by them would be closed.
