“Di mesyuarat majlis presiden PH pada Jumaat, orang-orang ini yang sekarang tiba-tiba menunjukkan sokongan kepada Mahathir adalah orang yang menuntut peletakan jawatannya. Bekas pemimpin PKR itu beritahu FMT pertemuan di Sheraton pada Ahad bagi membolehkan semua yang menyokong Mahathir menandatangani akuan berkanun.“Apa lagi pilihan yang kami ada kerana sehingga Sabtu ada usaha yang serius oleh orang lain untuk menghalang Mahathir daripada terus menjadi perdana menteri,” tambahnya.
Beliau berkata pemimpin BN berada di Sheraton untuk menunjukkan sokongan kepada Mahathir dan bukan untuk membincangkan barisan baru Kabinet. “Semua ahli Parlimen boleh sertai kerajaan. Bagaimanapun, hanya perdana menteri boleh beri mereka peranan,” katanya.
