Proposal to exempt housing developers from providing parking thesundaily AnthonyLoke Housing Rehda

has proposed transit-oriented development projects be exempted from providing parking space as a measure to reduce the price of houses.

“I see this as killing two birds with one stone as we could encourage the people to use public transport and reduce the cost of houses as the construction of car park is a cost to developers. Meanwhile, the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association president Datuk Soam Heng Choon said with easy access to transportation, new developments may not need to provide excessive car parks for each strata unit anymore and thereby reduce the construction cost per unit significantly.

“For example, the cost of building a car park in KL today is RM 50,000 per bay. So currently if we construct an apartment, there is a requirement for two car parks plus 10% for visitors. So if we could reduce by one car park bay, we can save RM50,000. This is the impact we can have on property price.

Why not YB anthonyloke try stay in condo/apartment nearby any mrt/ktm station for few months. Try not to use car/driver but MRT/KTM for 3 months. After that only you give your comment or suggest.

Probably locked themselves over a full weekend brainstorming how to get less Malaysians to buy property and increase foreigners buying property

Hello loke, whre u put your brain?, i suggest u to go to sngapore and do some study. Evry hses entitled 1 prking lot and thy even build a multi storey parking building for cheap parking rate for the resident or visitor. And u must rmmber that their public trnsport is superb

And then nobody buys, create foreign buyers campaign again and flood the area with foreigners. Please come to reality that our weal Public Transportation system is the root cause for less users

Why Don't You Propose to exempt toilets, kitchen and living halls? Just allow Common Toilets, Common Kitchen and Common Living Halls?

I can bet it will Never Work and Invites More Property Overhang! You can increase Petrol Tax and Limit Car Ownership to No More Than One!

pelhambluefund Dont turn this to Indo, Thai or Cambodia.

Calling earth, calling earth! Anyone?

AnthonyLoke Property buyers have brains to decide - What happens if No Parking No Property Sale? We sell Cheaper Again to Foreigners?
