IPOH: An investigation into the alleged mistreatment of five activists from the National Union of Workers in Hospital Support and Allied Services by the police is ongoing, says Perak police chief Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain.

IPOH: An investigation into the alleged mistreatment of five activists from the National Union of Workers in Hospital Support and Allied Services by the police is ongoing, says Perak police chief Comm Datuk Razarudin Husain .

“We are still investigating to see if the matter happened. There could be misconduct from our side, and a thorough investigation will be conducted, ” he told reporters after visiting SMJK Sam Tet here on Monday . He said the investigation papers will be submitted to the state public prosecutor for further action once they are complete.

It was reported that five activists from the union were arrested for gathering near the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital on June 2. Following that, they lodged police reports alleging wrongful detention for defying the conditional movement control order and misuse of power by the police.
