PPRS man wants Sabah polls put off after rise in Covid-19 cases FMTNews PRNSabah

LAHAD DATU: Authorities have been urged to consider postponing the state polls following the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in Sabah.

Erwan Johan, a Parti Perpaduan Rakyat Sabah candidate for the Silam seat, said it was not wrong to raise this issue for the sake of the people. Commenting on his Facebook post which called for the by-election to be put off, Erwan said the public’s safety should be prioritised over party and self interests.

“It is no problem to resume the polls only after the number of cases go down and the situation is under control again. “What I wish to convey is the importance of protecting the public in terms of health and containing the spread of Covid-19.”View More Commentary
