PETALING JAYA: The police report alleging spousal abuse was lodged in bad faith, says Selangor deputy speaker Hasnul Baharuddin .

"I uttered the talak upon her on Oct 14 and I believe the report was lodged on the same night or the following day," he said when contacted on Saturday .On the case, Hasnul said that he will await the completion of the police investigations before addressing the matter further. "The police are following the proper standard operating procedure and so far they have done the necessary by taking her to the hospital as well as recording my statement," he added.

Hasnul also requested the media to not blow up the matter as it"was a domestic issue and a personal matter".This comes after Kuala Langat OCPD Supt Ahmad Ridhwan Mohd Nor confirmed that they had received a report on the case against the Morib assemblyman, who is from Amanah. "We have opened investigations for voluntarily causing hurt and spousal abuse," he said when contacted on Saturday.
