KAJANG: Police raids on the same day successfully brought down an illegal online gambling den as well as a liquor stall found to have been selling illicit alcohol.

District OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof, in a press conference Monday , said the police had crippled a gambling syndicate after they raided a condominium at Sungai Long on June 28, leading to the arrest of 56 suspects.

He added that the suspects’ passports had been held by the “manager” under the excuse of making working visas. “A shop along Jalan Pasar Baru was raided and around 180 cans of illicit alcohol, worth around RM2,000, were confiscated. Also highlighted in the same press conference was the arrest of five suspects, believed to have been linked to the “Ah Hau” group.
