Kedah police chief, Datuk Kamarul Zaman Mamat said the five suspects, aged from 21 to 36, were detained by a Kedah Narcotics CID team at about 4.45pm."They inspected the car and found four compressed lumps wrapped with transparent plastic and oil paper suspected to be heroin base weighing almost 3kg.
He was speaking to reporters at a drugs disposal programme at Kedah police contingent headquarters on Wednesday . "Preliminary investigation found that they were active a month ago and their markets are the northern states.The drug can be used by about one million drug addicts if it enters the market.
He said all the suspects were remanded for seven days until October 18 and the case was being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
