KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Police are tracking down an individual who uploaded a defamatory and offensive statement through social media against the issuing of compound notices to eight individuals who were jogging in Taman Tun Abdul Razak (TAR), Ampang, near here, on Sunday (June 6).

said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission is currently checking the details of the Facebook account owner who uploaded the status.

"The case is being investigated under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act," he said in a statement here on Monday . He said the compound notices were issued under Regulation 17 P.U 243/2021 of the Infectious Regulations .

Talking nonsense as usual. Hey, PDRMsia, just because you are offended, it does not make it a crime. Defamation is a civil matter. For criminal defamation you have to show a prima facie offence to even start an investigation. Abuse of power as usual. Stop bullying the Rakyat.
