Royal Malaysia Police secretary Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said the man was released after the remand order against him ended today. “Next, PDRM, through the Classified Crime Investigation Unit, will refer the investigation papers to the Attorney-General’s Chambers in accordance with the provisions of article 145 of the Federal Constitution after the investigation is completed,” she said in a statement.

The 39-year-old man was detained at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters to assist in the investigation under section 4 of the Sedition Act 1948 and section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for allegedly uploading a video on the TikTok app that could incite tension among the races in the country. – Bernama, November 26, 2022.
