JOHOR BARU: A total of 1,425 people have been arrested so far since the start of the movement control order (MCO) in Johor, says state Police Chief Comm Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.

Meanwhile, Johor police issued 510 individuals with RM1,000 fine each following a statement on April 8 that police would be issuing a RM1,000 compound notice to those who violate the MCO.

Comm Ayob added that they will also face charges under Section 22 of the Prevention and Control of Infections Disease 1998 and Rule 3 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2020.
