GEORGE TOWN: Penang chief minister Chow Kon Yeow has revealed that no decision has yet to be taken on whether Putrajaya will impose a new national movement control order. Speaking after a Covid-19 meeting chaired by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin earlier, he said there was no decision on the matter just yet.

“Hence, Penang remains at its present status as of now,” he said in a brief statement. Penang, Selangor, Johor, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah and Sarawak are under a conditional MCO until May 17, according to the health ministry website. An MCO, entailing full restriction on movements has been declared for Kelantan until May 17, as well as parts of Sabah, Johor, Pahang and Kedah, while more relaxed restrictions under a recovery MCO are in force in selected parts of Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, and Pahang, while Perak, Terengganu, Perlis, Putrajaya, Labuan and Melaka are fully under RMCO.
