PETALING JAYA: Malaysia strongly condemns the escalation of violence in Palestine, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Prime Minister said that the attacks by Israeli Occupation Forces on Palestinian civilians and worshippers at the Al Aqsa Mosque during the holy month of Ramadan on Friday was a continuation of “assaults and the apartheid policy against the fundamental rights, lives, livelihoods and dignity of the Palestinians.”

He said that the international community must renew its commitment towards a lasting solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. “While the international community is justifiably appalled by the violence taking place elsewhere in the world today, it must not disregard the systematic acts of aggression of the Israel Occupation Forces against Palestinians of all faiths in their own land,” he said.

He added that Malaysia will work together with members of the international community in seeking peace and justice for the Palestinians, as well as bring positive change in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. “Malaysia also reaffirms our unwavering support for the Palestinians and their cause for achieving freedom from the Israeli illegal occupation, and realising their aspirations for an independent State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders with East Jerusalem as their Capital,” he said.
