: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced the dissolution of Parliament, paving the way for a general election.
Ismail said he met King Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah to gain approval for the dissolution. “The king has recommended for Parliament to be dissolved effective Monday, October 10,“ Ismail said in a special announcement.
