Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim with his Singapore counterpart Lawrence Wong during their public address, June 12, 2024. Anwar expressed hope that outstanding issues between Malaysia and Singapore can be resolved before their annual leaders retreat scheduled to take place at year’s end.
“We understand the complexities and the need to resolve this amicably. Notwithstanding some minor differences, it should not deter us from exploring new avenues for working together. Anwar said both countries had no choice but to ensure they find an amicable solution to any of their outstanding issues.
He said they were open to hearing any possibility for future projects and are looking into current ones and look forward to discussing it in the right spirit.
