Earlier, at the Dewan Negara, Dr Wee answered a question raised by Senator Raj Munni Sabu on the recent amendments to the Road Transport Act to increase penalties for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs including reckless driving.
Dr Wee told senators that the government was committed towards dealing with the issue and had swiftly tabled amendments to the Act at the Dewan Rakyat on July 27 before passing it on Aug 26.
