PETALING JAYA: It was a pleasant surprise for several interns of Perdana Fellows who got to meet Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong at Dewan Negara on Thursday (Sept 3).

The minister posted the photograph of himself with Perdana Fellows' interns Farihin Ufiya Mohd Azeem , Muhammad Farizuan Zulkafli and Farah Nur Rasyidah Shamenan on his Instagram post.

"This is the next generation who will inherit our nation in the future," he said in the post which was uploaded Thursday night. Earlier, at the Dewan Negara, Dr Wee answered a question raised by Senator Raj Munni Sabu on the recent amendments to the Road Transport Act to increase penalties for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs including reckless driving.

Dr Wee told senators that the government was committed towards dealing with the issue and had swiftly tabled amendments to the Act at the Dewan Rakyat on July 27 before passing it on Aug 26.
