KOTA KINABALU: Seorang ahli PPBM di Sandakan hari ini mempertahankan calon DAP, Vivian Wong yang dibidas di media sosial berhubung sesi gotong-royong membersihkan sebuah perkuburan Islam di Parlimen itu.
“Bapa saya sentiasa mahu pastikan perkuburan itu dalam keadaan bersih, dan kawan-kawan kami yang beragama Islam juga mengutamakan kebersihan. Saya hanya mahu teruskan amalan itu,” katanya.“Tetapi dalam isu ini, selepas ini saya akan lebih berhati-hati. Saya tak tahu ini boleh menyebabkan masyarakat bertengkar,” katanya.Zamri, yang menetap di Sim-Sim sejak lebih 40 tahun lalu berkata, dia terharu melihat Vivian membersihkan perkuburan itu.
“Kenapa amalan baik ini perlu ditularkan? Jangan jadikan ia suatu masalah sebab Stephen juga buat tahun lepas. Kami anggap Vivian seperti adik. “Kami menggesa calon-calon jangan sentuh isu kaum kerana kita tidak mahu apa yang berlaku di tempat lain datang ke Sabah,” katanya.“Itu bukan gaya saya atau PBS,” katanya ketika ditemui di Sandakan hari ini. “Saya ucapkan selamat maju jaya kepadanya.”Pegawai Perhubungan Media DAP Sabah, Ginger Phoong menyifatkan serangan terhadap Vivian sebagai gimik politik.
