Pengarah Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Bukit Aman Datuk Huzir Mohamed berkata, bagi tempoh 2009 hingga 2019 sebanyak 5,403 kes pembunuhan direkodkan dengan jumlah mangsa bunuh seramai 5,542 mangsa.
Huzir berkata, sebanyak 50 peratus motif pembunuhan dapat dikenal pasti selepas hasil siasatan manakala selebihnya tidak dapat atas faktor mayat sudah reput dan lama sehingga menyukarkan proses bedah siasat.
