PETALING JAYA: Perikatan Nasional has denied its MPs have signed statutory declarations (SD) to topple the government.

The party's deputy president Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu said the focus is now on the upcoming state elections in six states."We are aware of our responsibility as authoritative Opposition and it will continue," he told reporters during a Hari Raya event organised by Gombak assemblyman Muhammad Hilman Idham in Taman Selaseh, Selangor on Saturday .

Ahmad Faizal, who is also Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia deputy president, said Perikatan is focusing on the upcoming state elections. "Our focus is retaining the governments in Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah, as well as finding ways to take over Penang, Selangor and Negri Sembilan. "In the spirit of this festival, there is no need to think on the matter . Let's focus on servicing the people and fostering bonds" he added.

Also present were Selangor Perikatan chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and former Selangor Barisan Nasional chairman Tan Sri Noh Omar.
