The International Trade and Industry Minister was quoted as saying in a Sin Chew Daily report, that the Perikatan Nasional government led by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had what it takes to call for a general election anytime, as it had overcome political, economic, and public health crises."What's more important is for all parties to be fully ready and united in facing the polls," he said during the Penggerak Komuniti Negara dinner in Johor Baru on Saturday night.
Although the country was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, Azmin said the situation had improved following cooperation from various parties, including the government's effort in reviving the economy to benefit the people. Without naming anyone, he also took a swipe at a"certain leader" who was in reign for 22 years and yet"failed to resolve various problems faced by the people" and is still fighting over the prime minister candidate."The government is serious in taking care of the welfare of all people, attracting more foreign direct investment and business to ensure the country's prosperity," he was quoted as saying in the report.
Also present were Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin and Johor PKN chairman Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon.
