State secretary Datuk Ahmad Suaidi Abdul Rahim said premises owners are only encouraged to raise the flag as a show of loyalty.
“Government buildings, offices, schools and learning institutions should fly the flag at their premises. “Business and private premises, including houses of worship, are encouraged to do so voluntarily, ” he said in a statement Friday .Ipoh Datuk Bandar Datuk Rumaizi Baharin had said business premises that failed to fly the Perak flag despite being advised to do so would be issued with a compound.Ahmad Suaidi said all buildings are also encouraged to light up their premises until midnight on Nov 5 and 6.
He also said efforts to instil the spirit of loyalty among the people towards the Sultan should be done wisely and diplomatically. “This is so that the people’s spirit of loyalty towards the Sultan can grow wholehearted, ” he added.
