He said construction of the pipe was going smoothly and that the villagers could get fresh water supply before the festive period kicked off.
On Thursday , Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye said water taken from the treatment plant was still safe for washing and bathing, but advised villagers not to consume the water until further notice. Following reports of 0.02mg/L arsenic levels at the same plant by the ministry, SPAN ordered the indefinite shutdown of the plant on April 9.
"For now, tankers are still supplying water to residents, and we will wait further instructions from the National Water Services Commission to the Perak Water Board ," Ahmad Faisal said.
