Perak police chief Razarudin Husain said the exco member was detained yesterday to facilitate investigations. Confirming the arrest, Razarudin, however, refused to divulge details in regards to the arrest and informed that police would release a statement.Subsequently, police from the Bukit Aman sexual, women and children's investigations division department opened an investigation paper and recorded the victim's statement.The allegation came about two days before the new Perak exco line-up is sworn-in. Exco members for the state are appointed on an annual basis.
In the current line-up following the May 9, 2018 general election, DAP assemblypersons comprise five out of the 10 exco members in Perak.However, the ceremony of the appointments of the new exco line-up, which was scheduled to take place tomorrow, has been postponed to a later date.
