PETALING JAYA: Malaysian top mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon-Goh Liu Ying missed out on a glorious chance to snap their four-match losing streak to world No. 2 Wang Yilyu-Huang Dongping as they made a quarter-final exit at the Fuzhou China Open.

The world No. 6 Peng Soon-Liu Ying squandered a commanding 19-16 lead before throwing away two match points at 21-20 and 22-21 in the rubber game to go down 21-18,13-21,22-24 to their arch-rivals in the nail-biting contest that last 85 minutes on Friday .

World No. 14 Aaron-Wooi Yik scored a sensational 21-13,22-20 win over reigning world champions and second seeds Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan for their first win in five meetings against the Indonesians.
