Peng Soon and his partner Goh Liu Ying will leave tomorrow for the US$1.1mil prestigious meet at the Birmingham Arena, but Peng Soon can’t help being nervous over the long-trip to England, because of concerns over the Covid-19 outbreak.
“I’ve taken all the preventive measures but still, I can’t help but feel anxious,” said Peng Soon, who is hoping all will go well as shuttlers from all over the world travel to Birmingham. If the 2016 Rio Olympic Games silver medal winners clear the first round, they are likely to play Hong Kong’s Tang Chun Man-Tse Ying Suet in the second and possibly face fourth seeds Yuta Watanabe-Arisa Higashino of Japan in the quarter-finals.
