: The Penang Road Transport Department has issued 329 summonses against motorcyclists in a special operation dubbed ‘Ops Motorsikal’ held in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

“Throughout the enforcement period, the department has inspected 1,669 motorcycles and issued 329 summonses for various offences such as no driving licence, expired motor vehicle licence and insurance, no side mirror and illegal modification,” the statement said. The operation also targeted motorcycles that were modified for illegal racing or speed testing in an effort to combat illegal racing activities and prevent crime.
