The package, which comprises three main objectives and 16 initiatives, is set to benefit various segments of society particularly the frontline workers, individuals and businesses impacted by the Movement Control Order which has been extended until April 14.

Earlier today, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that the MCO, imposed to curb the spread of Covid-19, would be extended for another two weeks until April 14. He said similar financial aid would also be extended to pasar malam and pasar tani traders as well as food truck operators. “All Village Community Management Councils have also been directed not to collect rental for pasar malam and pasar tani plots for next month, which will involve a cost of RM1.61 million,” he added.

“Nearly 15,000 frontline workers will get the financial assistance. We are extremely grateful to them for their sacrifices in looking after our people,” he said, noting that RM10 million has also been set aside for the purchase of personal safety equipments.
