He said the Royal Malaysian Police would hold discussions on the matter with the Ministry of Transport and the Road Transport Department in the near future. Under the existing law, individuals who drive under the influence of alcohol could be charged under Section 45A of the Road Transport Act 1987 which provides a fine of not less than RM1,000 and not more than RM6,000 or imprisonment not exceeding 12 months.

Azisman said police were constantly monitoring the matter as it not only jeopardised the life of the driver but other road users as well.

PDRMsia set your priorities right...kalo nak kata, main fon sambil memandu mengakibatkan lagi byk kemalangan maut, mamat rempit nak letak mana plak Motosikal yg guna lebuhraya sambil potong sana sini & guna laluan motor, apa tindakan korang atau JPJ_Malaysia anthonyloke

Rempits high on drugs - please punish severely too. We're not interested in their 'potential' for motor racing or whatever garbage some Minister has been yapping about. Make Msian roads safe, no drunk drivers, no rempits.

Talk less, act on it pls
