PETALING JAYA: Bad characters in the police force must be weeded out swiftly to avoid further damage to its image, says the National Patriots Association (Patriot).

Its president Brig-Jen Datuk Mohamed Arshad Raji praised Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador for his action against personnel who tarnished the police forces’ image.

"The transfer order by him is a result and follows from the arrest by MACC of 10 police officers from Bukit Aman in early October. He added that Abdul Hamid had on a number of occasions ordered his officers not to indulge in criminal activities or be seen to be in association with alleged criminals. "Needless to say, officers of the law must be exemplary of the highest discipline and nothing less," he said, adding that such bad characters in the force need to be weeded out fast."The Inspector-General of Police’s tenure, which is near its end, does not give him enough time to weed out the undesirables.
