Passenger dies, driver suffers broken leg in crash
KUALA LUMPUR: A man died while another suffered a leg injury following an accident near the Intermark Mall, here.
Fire and Rescue Department personnel were dispatched to the scene and discovered the driver suffered a broken leg while the passenger was trapped."We managed to get the trapped passenger from the vehicle."However, he was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene," a department spokesperson said in a statement.
In an unrelated incident, a 27-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a car at a traffic light near Maju Junction on Saturday night (Jan 25).Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief Asst Comm Zulkefly Yahya said the impact of the collision sent the victim, identified as Iskandar Abd Rahman, to fall onto the road during the accident around 8.30pm.
"The victim died at the scene while the car driver, who is a Pakistani national, was unhurt."We are still investigating the matter," he said when contacted.The case is classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. Read more: The Star »
