This makes sense..more so than temperature tests for other tourists coming from countries where covid is under control (NOT LIKE CHINA). Temperature tests are perceived as a quick $$$ for quarantine hotels. Western (vaccinated tourists) will go elsewhere to spend $ we need here.
The problem with this (actually no problem for those who 'collect' from the government sitting at home) the problem for others is putting food on the table for their children..taking care of the elderly...etc etc. and it is not just Chinese Nationals affected by the restrictions
