PUTRAJAYA: Political activist Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, better known as Papagomo , has been detained for allegedly insulting His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim , King of Malaysia.
Papagomo's statement was made in a two-minute, 46-second video, where he questioned why the King met the owner of KK Super Mart, which was embroiled in the socks controversy.Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the arrest was made by Bukit Aman CID's Special Investigation Unit on Tuesday .
"He was detained following a police report lodged by a 41-year-old trader who saw the video on social media on Monday .Razarudin said they would make a remand application for Papagomo adding that the case was being investigated under Section 4 of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.
