He added that the 2022 Budget also had a larger deficit of RM293bil in comparison to 2021’s deficit of RM123mil.
Earlier in the day, Amirudin said when tabling his RM2.34bil 2022 budget that the deficit was based on the state’s projected income of RM2.1bil and estimated expenses of RM2.32bil. Out of the RM2.34bil, 52% or RM1.22bil would go towards administrative expenses whilst the balance of RM1.12bil would be spent on development.
"Focus will be given to high-impact programmes that will bring multiple positive effects on Selangor’s economic chain and for these efforts RM416.156mil has been allocated in this budget," said Amirudin."To increase Selangor’s lure as a main choice for local and foreign investments, the state government will simplify methods of conducting business, especially in terms of planning approval, the building plan and the infrastructure plan," said Amirudin.
