Tindakan mengepam mangkuk tandas dengan penutup terbuka boleh menyebabkan zarah aerosol yang membawa virus Covid-19 dapat dihidu oleh orang lain.Para saintis memberi amaran kepada orang ramai supaya menutup semula mangkuk tandas bagi mengurangkan risiko penularan virus.

Mereka juga dinasihatkan orang ramai agar membersihkan tempat duduk pada tandas sebelum menggunakannya kerana zarah virus yang terapung dapat berada di permukaannya dan setiap orang harus mencuci tangan dengan berhati-hati setelah mengepam.Menerusi penemuan yang diterbitkan dalam jurnal Physics of Fluids, para penyelidik mengatakan bahawa mereka tidak dapat memastikan sama ada zarah itu mempunyai keupayaan untuk menyebarkan Covid-19.

Mereka bagaimanapun menasihatkan orang ramai supaya menurunkan penutup mangkuk tandas selepas mengepamnya, sebagai langkah berjaga-jaga. “Tandas merupakan keperluan harian yang juga boleh menjadi bahaya sekiranya tidak digunakan secara baik, terutama ketika pandemik global ini. “Kecepatan akan lebih tinggi ketika tandas digunakan dengan kerap, seperti dalam keadaan tandas yang digunakan oleh keluarga pada waktu puncak atau tandas awam yang berfungsi dengan kawasan berpenduduk yang padat,” kata Pengarang Ji-Xiang Wang, dari Universiti Yangzhou di China.Subscribe to our newsletter and get news delivered to your mailbox.
