Following this, the Royal Malaysia Police announced that they are investigating this matter and are on the hunt for the group after receiving complaints from the general public about the incident. The Managing Director of Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd and Shell Timur Sdn Bhd, Shairan Huzani , has since taken to his Instagram page to share why cooking noodles using a stove at a petrol station is dangerous, even if it is nowhere near the petrol pumps.
He wrote, “There are some who have said, ‘it’s far from the pumps so it’s okay‘. No! Because petrol vapor can flow as far as 10 meters from the source such as the pump, the oil drain and the vent pipe. Stay safe everyone.” Basically, as long as you’re still within the petrol station grounds, you’re surrounded by petrol fumes that can be dangerous!In his video, Pak Cik Shell also shared a snippet of the group cooking their noodles at the petrol station and showcased roughly how far 10 meters is from a petrol pump.
