Zoo Negara dilaporkan mengalami banjir kilat sekitar jam 5:00 petang selepas hujan lebat yang melanda semalam (18 Oktober).

Semalam , kawasan sekitar Kuala Lumpur termasuklah di Hulu Kelang dilaporkan mengalami hujan lebat sehingga mengakibatkan sesetengah lokasi berdepan dengan banjir kilat.

Lebuhraya Lingkaran Tengah 2 Kuala Lumpur menghala ke arah Ampang dari kawasan Zoo Negara juga mengalami kesesakan lalu lintas selepas jalan raya mulai sesak akibat banjir kilat yang berlaku. Kenaikan air semasa banjir kilat turut memasuki premis Zoo Negara sekitar jam 5:00 petang dan beberapa video ketika kejadian turut dimuat naik oleh netizen di media sosial.

Semua haiwan kita juga berada dalam keadaan selamat kecuali seekor capybara terlepas keluar. Selain itu, dua panda juga selamat kerana berada di tempat yang tinggi. Timbalan Presiden Zoo Negara, Rosly @ Rahmat Ahmat Lana. Selepas banjir mulai surut, kerja-kerja pembersihan dilakukan pada hari yang sama sehingga jam 11:30 malam dengan bantuan pihak bomba dan Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya .
