State Unity, Trade and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman Dr Chong Fat Full said he attended a virtual committee meeting chaired by National Unity Minister Datuk Halimah Mohamed Sadique on June 8.
"Several points of consensus were achieved and approved during the meeting, including having houses of worship other than Islam to not only be registered with the Registrar of Societies but also under the Ministry in each state. "Based on information from the Ministry in Johor, there are 529 Buddhist temples registered in the state followed by 215 churches, 184 Hindu temples and six gurdwaras," he said on Saturday ."I encourage them to be registered to make it easier for the Ministry to give them the latest information.
