KUALA LUMPUR: Seeking a better life is why more than 30,000 Malaysians have overstayed their visa in Australia, with some claiming refugee status, Parliament was told.

"However, they are not deemed refugees.

Mohd Salim claimed that Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Andrew Goledzinowski, had recently revealed that about 33,000 Malaysians had overstayed their 90-day visas, with some claiming refugee status. Marzuki said Wisma Putra was working closely with their Australian counterparts to monitor Malaysians seeking refugee status or protection visas.

To a question by Arthur Joseph Kurup , Marzuki advised Malaysians to check with the relevant authorities before taking up overseas job offers.

Revoke their citizenship. Let them become nation less. Real refugees.

Malaysians have been identified by Australia as *frequent* visa over-stayers and illegal workers. Their actions have made it more difficult for Malaysians with good intentions to study, visit and live in Australia.

Should they be allowed to vote in the next GE?

'Refugees'. Like the same 'refugees' that travel over two countries to claim asylum and refugee status in the USA?

Probably to get away from all the bulls*** that's happening. I don't blame them.

Australia should arrest all and deport them back to their country cos thats what their country doing to other immigrants in Malaysia
