Kelantan police chief Datuk Hasanuddin Hassan said the house of the 51-year-old man was inspected after authorities received a tip-off.
He said the raid was conducted at 6pm, under an operation codenamed"Ops Bersepadu Khazanah" by a team of enforcers from the Wildlife and National Parks Department , four members of the 18th Battalion of General Operations Force , and three Forest Department personnel. "Initial investigations revealed that the man knew the shotgun belonged to his father-in-law to protect crops.
"However, the man had to be detained because the firearm and bullets were not registered to any party, ” he told reporters at the Kelantan police contingent headquarters here Thursday .Hasanuddin said on the same day, four men aged between 28 and 43, who were travelling on a four-wheel vehicle, were arrested by authorities upon entering Pos Pasik at about 4pm.
