KUALA LUMPUR: Only two Malaysian pairs - Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei - are left standing to shoulder the challenge in the Malaysian Open.

World No. 7 Yew Sin-Ee Yi came from behind to beat Taiwan's world No. 15 Lu Ching-yao-Yang Po-han 17-21, 21-13, 21-14 in the men's doubles second round at the Axiata Arena on Thursday

Newly formed pair Tang Jie-Ee Wei brought cheers for the home fans when they stunned Indonesia's world No.12 Rehan Naufal-Lisa Ayu with a 21-19, 21-16 win. Meanwhile, reigning men's doubles world champions Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik were shown the door after suffering a disappointing 10-21, 21-23 defeat at the hands of China's world No. 6 Liu Yuchen-Ou Xuanyi.
