One attendee wanted to know why elected representatives were not fluent in the national language, even in Parliament sittings. To the 36-year-old, it wasn’t so much standard BM that was a problem. Instead, he said the different Malay slang and loghat or patois used by politicians from different regions nationwide was a challenge to understand, even for him.
