It was reported that KRI's benefactor, Khazanah Nasional Berhad no longer had confidence in Nungsari's leadership.However, Nungsari said he remains as the Malaysian Aviation Commission chairman for now.There had been several news reports quoting sources which said that Nungsari's resignation came into effect on Tuesday.
Nungsari, a former Balik Pulau MP, started contributing to the institute as a trustee since it began in 2013. On Thursday , the Finance Ministry announced the appointment of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as the chairman of Khazanah Nasional Bhd. In a statement, it said that Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, as well as Datuk Mohammed Azlan Hashim have been appointed as its members.
