We thought the players would get better and stronger, as that is what progress is all about, and turn their silver into gold four years later. While Lee Zii Jia, who shares the same surname as Chong Wei, has been impressive, beating several big guns, including China’s Olympic champion Chen Long, he has come out short on other occasions.
While BAM remains hopeful that the players will defy the odds and produce an Olympic medal, it is looking beyond Tokyo 2020.
