Chow Kon Yeow says the two projects will be included in the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021-2025), which will be tabled in Parliament in the third quarter of next year. FMTNews

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow speaks during a visit to the Bayan Lepas LRT public inspection booth at Komtar today.

Chow was clarifying a report in Malaysiakini which quoted him as saying the state would need to wait for five years for funding for the two projects. The proposal to scale back the reclamation project came after Chow met PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, who was concerned about the plight of some 800 fishermen who will be affected by the project.

Chow said the Environmental Management Plan for the road had been approved by the Department of Environment in July.
