KOTA KINABALU: Viral messages being circulated claiming that unwanted incidents are bound to happen in the city amid the political turmoil in Sabah are fake news, say the police.

Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Habibi Majinji on Thursday said there was no truth to these messages, and there was no need for anyone to believe it.

He also warned the public against spreading fake news.One of the messages being shared stated:"Do not go out into the city today for safety precautions as something untoward might happen following the Istana Negeri’s announcement".
