PETALING JAYA: Social media posts about a group of criminals allegedly using blades hidden inside cards to slash and rob victims are not true, say police.

Inspector-General of Police corporate communications secretariat Supt Skandaguru Anandan said in a statement on Tuesday that such posts started circulating online in 2014 and had recently resurfaced."The police confirm that no such report with this modus operandi has been lodged.

"The victims are from different incidents. The injured woman was from a different robbery incident while the injured man was a victim of a fight at an entertainment outlet overseas," he said.Article type: metered
